Josh Joyner: Junior Highlights

Josh Joyner had a big season last fall. See the Hunt High (Wilson, N.C.) running back in action in this presentation by FOX Sports Next.

Last fall, Josh Joyner was one of the most productive running backs in the state. As a junior, he ran for over 1,800 and 26 touchdowns. Through the first two games this season, he has rushed for 305 yards and seven touchdowns on 19 carries. Joyner is attracting interest from Appalachian State, East Carolina, Richmond, and UNC-Charlotte.

Joyner is a running back who does a lot of things well. He has good vision and quick feet. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound playmaker has the unique ability to make cuts without losing speed. He is a patient runner, but once he sees the hole, he hits it hard. Although he is not the biggest back, Joyner does a nice job running behind his pads, which allows him to be able to run inside and outside. He is an instinctive runner, who is more quick than fast. Joyner is also a good receiver out of the backfield. Overall, there is a lot to like about his game. He will need to add some weight and continue to get stronger, but it is hard to believe he is still waiting for his first scholarship offer. Someone will get a still on signing day. Joyner carries a 3.4 GPA.
