Thanks in part to its potent triple-option, Navy ran all over the Pirates, in route to a 56-28 win.

The Pirate Nation had a lot of bad memories from the last time the Midshipmen visited Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium in 2010 arise when Navy routed ECU 56-28 Saturday. Thanks in part to its potent triple-option, Navy ran all over the Pirates, in route to a 56-28 win.

Though the score wasn't quite as lop-sided, it had the same kind of feel.

As a team, the Midshipmen rushed for 512 yards and had 32 first downs. Gee Gee Greene led the twelve Navy ball carriers with 131 yards on 14 carries. Freshman quarterback Keenan Reynolds went 3-5 passing with two touchdowns while adding three scores 81 yards on the ground.

Navy scored touchdowns on all but two drives during Saturday's contest and its offense simply could not be stopped.

The Midshipmen led 14-0 at the end of the first quarter but in the second, the offense began to have success, scoring on two long touchdown drives to the tie the game at 14-14.

After the Pirates' equalizing score, Navy went on a 28-0 run that put the game out of reach.

After missing three games with a concussion, Reggie Bullock found the endzone twice while Vintavious Cooper rushed for 121 yards on 18 carries.

ECU's record is now 4-3 but fortunately, two of its last three games will be played at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium, including this Saturday afternoon against Houston.
