Sampson and Kolo to transfer from ECU

ECU athletics officially announced that junior forward Robert Sampson and redshirt sophomore Yashin Kolo will be transferring from East Carolina. No word yet on where the two will be heading.

GREENVILLE, N.C. – East Carolina junior forward Robert Sampson and redshirt freshman forward Yasin Kolo have decided to transfer from the men’s basketball program Pirate head coach Jeff Lebo announced Tuesday.

"We appreciate the contributions Robert and Yasin made to our program," Lebo said. "We wish each of them best of luck in their future endeavors."

As a junior this past season, Sampson started all 33 games in which he played, averaging a career-best 9.1 points and 9.2 rebounds per game. He led the team in rebounds and blocks per game (1.8) during the 2012-13 campaign.

Kolo played in eight games as redshirt freshman, averaging 1.8 points and 1.8 rebounds per game.
