Robinson to Start

Junior quarterback Desmond Robinson will get the starting nod for the Pirates when they open their season one week from today against the Cincinnati Bearcats.

East Carolina head coach John Thompson squelched any last minute speculation by releasing his depth charts over the weekend. Robinson played in eight games in 2002, completing 48 percent for 250 yards, one TD and two interceptions. Despite naming Robinson the starter, Thompson emphasized that last year’s starter Paul Troth will also see action.
