QB Prospect High on ECU?

Posted Apr 3, 2002

According to an e-mail Crossbones received on Tuesday, Courtland Rush, the high school quarterback who as a freshman backed up Paul Troth at Charlotte’s Vance High School has received written communications from the ECU football staff and now includes the Pirates along with Illinois as his top college choice.

The unsubstantiated report stated that Rush would accept an ECU scholarship if offered. The report also stated that Rush has heard from Oregon, West Virginia, Clemson, Texas A&M, Kansas, Kansas State, Virginia, USC and Valdosta State.

For the second consecutive summer the 6’ 205 lb. Rush, who now attends Butler High School in Charlotte has been invited to participate at the Nike combines. Chris Leak from Charlotte Independence and Rush were the only sophomore quarterbacks from the state invited.
