Coach LeClair hospitalized

Posted Apr 17, 2002

East Carolina's Head Baseball Coach Keith LeClair has been hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit of Pitt County Memorial Hospital since Sunday night.

His wife Lynn says that he is not in critical condition, but is in the ICU so that he can get the best care.

Coach LeClair, in his fifth season with the Pirates, was told last summer that he has amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, or Lou Gehrig's Disease).

LeClair was in Charlotte over the weekend for a three-game series with UNC-Charlotte. He was taken to the hospital after returning from Charlotte on Sunday night.

I know that I speak for all of the people associated with Crossbones, when I say that we are keeping Coach LeClair in our thoughts and prayers. Get well soon Coach, Omaha awaits.
