NOTES: D.J. McFadden continued the trend of Division-I quarterbacks at Independence by inking with East Carolina in February, and physically he may project better than Joe Cox (Georgia) or Chris Leak (Florida).
The 6-foot-2, 215-pound signal-caller started as a junior for the first time in 2005, and all he did was pass for 3,877 yards and 33 touchdowns to lead Indy to a 16-0 record and a sixth-straight state 4A title.
Although his numbers dpped to just 2,271 yards and 15 touchdowns during his senior season, McFadden still led Independence to another state title.
